Banque Societe Generale Vostok (BSGV) expands its IT-outsourcing geography. After the fruitful cooperation had yielded successful results in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Krasnodar, BSGV entrusted I. T. Co. with the task of maintaining data-processing and office equipment in its Ekaterinburg’s regional branch office. Next in line are BSGV’s branch offices in Samara and Togliatti.
BSGV operates in 11 Russian cities – Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Togliatti, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok. Over 2000 employees are using the bank’s unified information system.
Under the new agreement, experts of the I. T. Co.’s Yekaterinburg branch will install computer software on the employees’ computers at the Bank’s Yekaterinburg branch office, hook up telephones, perform preventive maintenance, and transport faulty office equipment and PCs for repairs. In case of equipment failures BSGV staff can forward email requests to the I. T. Co. Service Desk ‘twenty four-seven’ or inform about the problems over the phone. I. T. Co. specialists will correct the faults or replace the faulty equipment within the timeframes stipulated in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
After evaluating the performance of the I. T. Co. specialists in its head office and other branch offices, BSGV’s administration decided to outsource technical support for its Yekaterinburg branch and signed a new contract. Cooperation between I. T. Co. and BSGV began in December of 2006, when I. T. Co. started offering outsourcing services for BSGV’s Main Office in Moscow and for the bank’s branches in Nizhny Novgorod and Krasnodar. For a year and a half now I. T. Co.’s engineers have been working in shifts providing system administration services and around-the-clock support for the majority of the bank’s information system components in its Moscow office. In Nizhny Novgorod and Krasnodar I. T. Co. provides for uninterrupted functioning of the server and computer equipment.
All agreements between I. T. Co. and BSGV are valid ’till the end of 2008. In the nearest future the bank is planning to commission I. T. Co. with servicing the IT-infrastructure of its regional offices in two other cities – Samara and Togliatti.
Gilles Blanchard, BSGV’s Director of the Information System Bureau, says: “The use of IT-outsourcing not only allows us to minimize downtime of the IT equipment, but also lets us fine-tune performance of our IT department without actually adding staff. Most regional BSGV branches only employ one IT specialist. And it is quite enough for interacting with a professional provider of the IT services.”
