The Second “Innovation University Information System” Conference Took Place in Moscow
On 27 February 2009 I.T. Co. together with the Microsoft Corporation held scientific-practical conference “Innovative University Innovation System – 2009” at the Public Economy Academy of the Government of RF. The main topics of the Conference were: practical aspects of university administration solutions selection and implementation, solutions for documentary support of university administration, and use of modern technological solutions in the learning process.

Conference“Innovative University Information System” is held for the second year in the row. This time the event attracted representatives of 57 education facilities from 33 Russian regions. The number of participants doubled from the last conference and exceeded 100 people.

The Conference included three sessions. The first session was dedicated to the role of IT development in the innovative education growth in RF, the second session raised issues related to the use of IT to enhance university administration quality. During the third session the participants discussed experience and potential of innovative technologies application in the learning process.

Tagir Yapparov, I.T. Co. CIO, presented a report on growing role of universities in establishment of the information society, and announced the new company initiative in education innovations. Based on the result of the contest that will be held 1 April 2009 through 1 April 2010 I.T. Co. will hand out grants in three nominations: For the best innovation IT product development, For the best specialized IT class and For the best parallel super-computing software.

Head of the Microsoft Corporation Department for Collaboration with Education Facilities Dmitriy Beresnev in his report spoke of the modern Microsoft tools used for working with knowledge and information.

The Conference participants paid special attention to report by Rafael Gazizov, head of the IT Department at the UGATU University, where he described experience in using supercomputers to prepare applied mathematics specialists, and its use as a tool in scientific research.

I.T. Academy and Aplana, both from the I.T. Group, also took part in the Conference. Their representatives told about the use of distance education technologies in organization of the learning process in universities, about electronic library creation, and about information rights protection technology.

An exposition of innovation solutions for universities was organized during the event where participants could get familiar with functional modules of complex solution I.T.-University and Microsoft solutions for universities.
