The first I.T. Co. regional resource center (RRC) in Ufa turned 1 year. Created as a pilot project, the center has already proven its efficiency and became the resource base for entire I.T. Co.
I.T. Co. has opened the first regional resource center in Ufa in Spring 2008 to try out a new business-model. In light of deficiency of quality IT staff the RRC became the source for staff of the I.T. Group technology departments. Today RRC already employs 60 specialists performing work for the information management technologies department, industrial business department, system software department, and for the automation service and Ural regional office of I.T. Co.
Today the company is actively searching for and hiring new employees with rare for the region skills. For example, for this purpose a new free learning course was developed at the Ufa State Technical Aviation University (UGATU) — “Basics of Lotus Domino applications development”, upon completion of which students receive I.T. Co. certificate and can be hired at RRC. Also, RRC employees can get additional training and certification inside the company.
2009 brings new perspective in front of the Ufa RRC. The staff will be increased to 90 persons, cooperation with I.T. Co. subdivisions will be expanded. Currently the company is considering a possibility of using the RRC specialists to cover some internal business-processes of the Group. Moreover, together with the sales department and Ural regional I.T. Co. office the company is considering a possibility of using the RRC resources by external clients.
Elena Pyzh, Head of Regional Resource Center Project at I.T. Co., says: “Over a year the regional resource center model has demonstrated its efficiency, and the successful Ufa experience will be applied in cities with good educational base. This project not only creates a resource base for the company, but also bears social significance: provision of jobs and good career growth possibilities to young IT specialists in Russian regions.”
