I.T. Co.'s cloud company gains Skolkovo resident status
The Skolkovo Innovation Center has awarded JSC “Unicloud Labs”, an I.T. Group company, the status of a project resident-participant. The technology park’s support for innovative activities will allow the young team to develop and successfully commercialize the cloud product targeted at small and medium businesses.

On September 27 2011 at a ceremony at RIA News, Unicloud Labs was declared a new resident of the Skolkovo Innovation Center in the Information and Computer Technologies cluster. To obtain that status, the company passed a tough selection by examination board where product innovativeness was the main criteria.

Unicloud is a project launched by I.T. Group in 2010 with the aim of creating unique market offerings based on cloud services. The company specializes in the provision of cloud services to the small and medium business market, and integration projects in the field of private cloud systems.

"When we announced that we would begin providing Google Apps for Business and Microsoft Hosted Exchange services through our company, we said that selling the best cloud services from market leaders was only the first step. Today we announce the next step: Unicloud, represented by its subsidiary “Unicloud Labs,” is developing a unique cloud service,” said Dmitry Torshin, Director General of Unicloud.

The company is creating a service that will ease life for small and medium businesses in Russia. The service will be simple, easy-to-understand, and mobile. But its main advantage is that the service is not just another accounting system but a business tool which helps companies develop new markets, and find customers, suppliers, and partners. Moreover, all these capabilities will be offered free of charge in the basic version of the solution. The launch of the service onto the market is planned for 2012.

The project to develop a unified cloud system for automation and collaboration in Russian small businesses involves world-class advisors including Christof Fetzter, PhD and Professor at Dresden Technical University, Denis Popov, Candidate of Science {Engineering} and Assistant Professor at Ufa State Aviation Technical University; Bairam Annakov, a well-known figure in start-up circles, and General Director of Empatika Consulting Company. The project is being coordinated by Tagir Yapparov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of I.T. Co., and one of the best managers in the IT industry according to the Russian Managers Association "TOP-1000 Russian Managers".

“We are glad that the independent expert council of Skolkovo has recognized our project as innovative and forward-looking. This is further proof that we have come up with a really interesting concept from both a technological and a business point of view. It is equally important that we’ve managed to gather a really strong team for this project. I am sure that the Unicloud project will be very successful,” commented Tagir Yapparov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of I.T. Group, on the event.
