Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI)'s Structured Cabling Systems department, founded with the support of I.T. Co. specialists, has developed new cable designs for structured cabling systems (SCS). The novelty and high technical level of the proposed designs have been confirmed by the Russian patents.
The Structured Cable Systems department was created at MTUCI with the participation of I.T. Co. In addition to training specialists in the field of design, building and operation of SCS, the department conducts experimental design and technical work. As a result, they have developed designs for symmetric four-pair cables which have passed all required examinations and gained patents from the Federal Intellectual Property, Patent and Trademark Service (Rospatent).
The products patented under No. 2424593 and 2422930 belong to the field of electrical engineering and can be used for building a shared network and structured cable systems. These inventions allow reduction of coupling effect between pairs in four-pair cable, ensuring higher performance characteristics of SCS.
“The partnership between science and business helps create really innovative products in the field of information and communication technologies. As a result of our collaboration, we were able to create simple but widely adoptable solutions for building up-to-date IT infrastructure. It is especially important that the patented products will go into production in the near future, and new SCS advantages will become evident for both design and engineering companies and direct customers”, said Andrey Borisovich Semenov, head of MTUCI's “Structured Cable Systems” department, I.T. Co.'s SCS Development Director, and Doctor of Engineering.
About Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI)
Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI) is the largest education and science center for training and retraining highly skilled specialists in the field of telecommunications, informatics, radio engineering and economics. Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics dates back to 1921. It was the first institution of higher education in the country for training communications engineers. In 1971, the university - known then as an Institute - was awarded the Red Banner of Labour for great services in training communication specialists and advances in research and scientific work.
The base "Structured cable systems" department was established in the Communications department of MTUCI's "Communications Networks and Systems" faculty with the help of I.T. Co. in 2008. Andrey Semenov, I.T. Co.'s SCS Development Director, who defended the first doctoral thesis on SCS in Russia and gained his Doctor of Engineering Science degree, has been head of the base department since its foundation. The base department trains specialists in structured cable system design, building and operation. More information is available on the web-site
