The new leader, who has an outstanding experience in FSW in I.T. Group, Penguin Software and Aplana, will primarily concentrate on strategic goals, including FSW business development and creation of a management system for the area.
I.T. Group has been dealing in projects using FSW solutions for over 10 years. In this serious period, I.T. Group has implemented dozens of FSW-based projects for organizations in the public and commercial sectors. The Group now employs more than 100 highly skilled certified free software professionals (architects, analysts, engineers, and designers), has built partnerships with leading global manufacturers of FSW-based solutions (Alfresco, LifeRay, Red Hat, Pentaho, etc.), which makes it possible to accomplish almost any project, whether it is FSW migration, technical support, implementing ready-made ones or developing customized FSW-based solutions, testing FSW-based IT systems, and user training. Further advantage offered by I.T. Group is the available comprehensive stack of free software products (from the infrastructure level to applications), which includes a large proportion of own finished solutions based on free software, such as ECM systems, EDM systems, solutions for services digitization, CRM systems, etc.
“At the moment, a considerable number of Russian companies and organizations are already benefiting from free software by using it as platforms or individual elements of their internal information systems. And there are all conditions required for FSW to become increasingly popular,” said Nikolay Smetanin. “Customers now need end-to-end solutions integrated into the organization’s infrastructure, rather than individual applications. Delivering them through FSW is faster and cheaper. This explains why developing the FSW business is a priority task for I.T. Group. And I am going to make as much effort as possible to address it.”
